This is NOT happening when running games in exclusive fullscreen mode, however quite a few games don't truly support fullscreen anymore. To elaborate, windowed G-Sync causes a weird frame time inconsistency issue, which causes perceivable microlag every few seconds, or even more often, depending on the game (not actual fps drops!!). So Windowed G-Sync is tecnically fixed, but practically it's not.
Meaning the driver can now properly engage G-Sync on its' own even after a reboot, however it will still have stuttering/microlag, however you want to call it. 398.86 really "fixes" Windowed G-Sync, but only as much as killing dwm.exe does it.
